what would be the best way to replace winME with win98 in a dual-boot situation where winME is in C: and WINXP in a logical partition, thanks very much.

boot with ME bootdisk, at A> prompt type sys C: which will erase dual boot MBR again next boot with 98 floppy and at A> prompt type format C: then press enter once your C drive is formated , again boot with win98 floppy and choose start with cd-rom support and put your cdrom in the drive to install win98. once 98 is installed, start 98 and put XP cdrom in drive and choose repair option for xp and repair MBR . HTH
