Did you reset the BIOS? Have you tried another bootable CD in case that one is bad?

You have a sata drive
You must install the drivers for the sata drive during the set up by pressing F6 when requested...right after the boot to CD option

Some computers allow for a legacy sata drive it will be a BIOS setting but should have already had the option configured since you are replacing the older drive

To set up for the installation of the sata drivers visit your computer manufacturer's website > support/driver/downloads >your model > your operating system.

Find the sata driver download and the read me file to learn how to set up for this installation!

Well you could do the jumper on the mother board battery. Or Remove that battery then start the computer then turn it of again then install the Battery back that is how you reset the bios. But before that have you tried on reinstalling the IDE or the Sata of the Cd rom and the hard disk.

You don't have to reset the BIOS, you just have to specify a SATA driver disk as mentioned in #3.
