Repeatedly Losing Network Settings

OS: Win XP Home SP 1
CPU/Ram: P4 2.2, 1 gig ram
Comment:

I have two computers connected to a Microsoft Base station. One works fine. The other one constantly loses its network settings. I rerun the installation CD and then the network works fine for a couple hours then stops working until I rerun the installation CD.

What I've tried:
* Made sure all cables are snug
* Ran full antivirus scan
