Whenever I reboot my PC, it always runs a Check/Scan/whateverDisk on one specific drive (out of 6). Always the same one.
No bad sectors, just a constant check, whenever I reboot. The least it could do is tell me WHY it's doing it, instead of just throwing soem meaningless results/statistics in my face.
Is there a way to stop this, or at least a program to run to actually find out if there's a problem with it?

Below you will find some instructions, that may help. If they do not, try the Help and Support option located in the Start menu for more options.
===================================
1. Run the Registry Editor(Regedt32.exe).
2. Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following subkey:
\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
3. Change the BootExecute entry from:autocheck autochk * /r\DosDevice\C:
To:
autocheck autochk *

Hi Jen, FJ, hello everyone,
FJ,
Sorry about my previous response as it does indicate that Jen, yourself and everyone else run the commmand.
The dirty command within fsutil will show if the dirty bit is set.
When Windows starts autochk is executed via the registry entry you specified in your previous response. It will check to see if the dirty bit is set and perform a chkdsk on that volume if it is.
It's possible that the dirty bit on Jen's computer is not resetting after a clean chkdsk is performed. This can be reset but I didn't won't to post how without first determining if Jen's volume IS dirty.
Best Regards,
Mesich

I have the same problem as Jen, only the dirty query says my drive is dirty. I have let chkdsk finish scanning repeatedly with no errors, but it still shows up as dirty. Is there a way to reset the dirty query, and fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone,
From a command prompt type chkntfs /d
Restart the computer.
Chkdsk will run on all volumes and they should now show NOT dirty when using fsutil.
Upon the next restart the computer should not run chkdsk.
Best Regards,
Mesich
