I was doing a "repair" on XP and I grabbed the wrong OS disk and by mistake I put in a Win XP Professional disk and after I found my error, I cancelled everything and now when my pc boots, it asks which system I want to load, "Windows Home XP" or "Windows Professional XP Setup". How can I get rid of the "setup"?

Thanks

Boot to XP-Home; set it as default OS to boot; reboot to verify it does just that. Presuming so... remove entry for XP-Pro setup from boot.ini. The "set default OS" and "to remove XP-Pro setup" entry can be done at the same location:

MyComputer\Properties\Advanced-tab/startup etc. button/option...

Hi, I may be wrong (so wait for confirmation) but if the Professional boot works, boot into it, browse to (partition you did the repair on):\Windows\System32 and run OSuninst.exe. Make sure you do this for the right installation, it's the XP uninstaller.

Hmm, don't do what I said, I believe it uninstalls all XP installations, pro or not. Try what trvlr said. sorry about that, I'm really tired...
