Greetings, just found this site so I'd thought I'd ask if anybody knows of a program or a windows setting to help with renaming files. The problem is I've got about 18,000 files I need to rename, for example if the file name is SC3143-07 - 702 - Where My Girls At.cdg and SC3143-07 - 702 - Where My Girls At.mp3 I need to rename it to simply Where my girls at.cdg and Where my girls at.mp3 but when I select both files and then rename, the .mp3 file ends up as Where my girls at(1).mp3 due to windows auto renaming feature. Now the file won't play the mp3 that goes with the cdg file unless I physically then rename the mp3 file by removing the (1) portion of the file name which takes additional time and really adds up when doing this many files. I'd just like to save some time by only having to rename one file which should be possible since the files have different extensions and therefore can have the same name. Any ideas? THanks.

darkbreeze, SWAG, strikes me that your rename operation's fine, rather your problem lies with your player. Is it maybe set to play ONLY one sort of file (either .mp3 or .cdg), but not both?
