You should try the search. I've seen approx 3 "How to remove windows messenger" threads on these forums in the past 2 months. I also asked at one time. Just use the search and ur bound to find the answer especially since so many people have asked the same question.

I don't use Messenger, either. I got so annoyed w/ it opening alongside Outlook Express. A quick-and-dirty suggestion made to me was to just rename the folder to something else. Go to C:\Program Files and find the Messenger folder. Rename it something like "MessengerBak." No more opening w/ OLX.

Go to C:/Windows/Inf Open the file sysoc.inf with notepad. Remove the word "hide" from the line "msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7" so it appears as "msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7" Save, go to add/remove programs/windows components and you will see it listed there so you can uninstall it.//or use this http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_mess_disable.htm
