Removing Win XP and dual boot partition.

I recently installed Win XP HE using the dual boot option keeping my Win 98 SE as the other boot option. However Win XP HE was just too unstable on my system. So... I junked it, that is until it matures and becomes more stable. I removed the Win XP HE partition by first moving all the Win 98SE folders to another drive temporairially, and reformatted drive D:, which has effectively killed (removed WIN XP). Then I edited the "BOOT.INI", which is in the root directory of my C: drive, removed all referrences to the Win XP etc. This left only Win 98SE as the default boot option. btw. ms tech support sucks and their knowledge base articles are lacking in specific instructions on how to effectively uninstall (remove XP). This procedure has worked so far.

I'd recommend using partition magic to merge your partitions together if you want a single one, or use the old winxp one to install your games to or something like that.
Then I'd take a win98 boot disk and load dos and type sys c:
After that you should be able to safely remove bootsect.dos, boot.ini, ntdetect.com and ntldr which should all be located on your c drive.
