removing one xp from two on same drive

i got error with xp when i use to log on it imeediately after showing the wallpaper log offs i tried everything that was possible but then to no result i know before this happened my mccafee deleted some system files as reason of virus so i repaired it but nothing improved then i have now installed another xp and scaned it first with mccafee but no virus (full scan) (updated one) i want the previous system back working scince it has lots of software and my data so please help me can you also tell me how to install a .dat file update on mccafee virus scan 8.5i enterprise i searched it when it was dowloading and save it and is fedora 7 better than windows xp

cant start it even in safe mode i came to know that userinit.exe is lost i found that in my another windows in system32 folder then i copy pasted it in my previous windows and what did i see it started like a normal one but now i want to remove the another one i installed without reformatting can u tell i to want to know that can i install the .dat files of mcafee update i searched for it when it was updating in temp folder its just 55mb and zipped please help
