Run msconfig and see if the program is listed in "Startup."

Also, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKCU\Software\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete the entry from those keys.

Hi PCblues,

This is Jason with Mindspark Interactive Network Customer Support here to provide you with some additional information on your problem.

What you were experiencing was the result of an incomplete uninstall. This can happen when you try using third party software to uninstall. Such software frequently leaves behind artifacts like the one you saw and much more.

The only recommended way to uninstall is using our own onboard uninstaller. This may sound strange, but the easiest way to fix this will be to re-install the toolbar (e.g. go to smileycentral.com and download the toolbar), and then uninstall using the control panel. That should clean up any artifacts left behind.

Please note that you will continue to see the My Web Search®toolbar until you close and reopen all instances of your Web browser or Explorer.

We hope that in the future you will take a second look at the My Web Search toolbar.
