how can you modify by either replacing or deleting files in the

c:/windows/_restore/temp.bak

or whatever, like dell and hp put files on teh hard drive as cab files to be used for restoring things but those files cant be deleted even in administrator mode

SO if a virus infects one of thses which i have seen alot and always in a _resotre/folder

i have no idea how to get rid of it.

any ideas?

The way it looks/sounds, You may only have 1 choice, that is to disable System Restore. reboot and then re-enable it. of coursse doing so will also wipe out all restore points up to that tima.
