Removing double boot option

I mistakenly put a second hd into my computer that had xp on it, my main hd is win98. so now when I boot up I get a option boot menu. I no longer have the xp hd in my computer, how can I get rid of this double boot menu. Thanks

edit the boot.ini file in wordpad.
remove the xp option. reboot

Easier than that ... put in a boot floppy and at the A prompt type sys c:
