I installed a piece of freeware called Post-It a few months ago,I decided it was not something I would use so I uninstalled it via ADD/REMOVE and I just noticed when I open MSCONFIG and click on the start tab that this item is still listed ? I have it set to not startup when Windows does ,however I've performed a full H.D. search and there is no traces of this app. on my drive except for the item still listed in MSCONFIG ? Can someone give me the registry key where items listed in this utility startup section are so I can delete it from still showing up ?
Thank You ,Nick

Nick,
The keys you want to check are:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

You could also download Startup Control Panel which is Free at the link below.

Run a registry cleaner. Many freeware programs do not uninstall cleanly. The one you had is an example. CCleaner's registry module should cleanup the orphan entries.

Here's another place to check:

HKLM\software\microsoft\sharedtools\msconfig\startupreg

I want to thank all that replied ! I have looked in the possible places all of you have pointed out to me and even though many of the items listed in msconfig are present the Post-It entry does not appear in any of these locations ? I guess I will have to learn to live with it. I run CCleaners Registry tool all the time and I've yet to have it list this Post-it app ! Its one stubborn entry in MSCONFIG !
Thanks Again ,Nick

You'll probably find this isn't the only program that's
loitering with unused files and archived data. If you've been
using Windows for a while, it's probably heaving in registry
data that can be wiped and won't be missed. Nothing that
any of us can do about it really, just a natural degrading
quality to Windows.

It's a good idea to grab one of the registry fixing apps and
let it run once a month. You'll get rid of a few errors and
minimize the possibility of later complications.
