Comment:

Hi
I manually removed one software from my pc but it still appears in the “add-remove software” list. When I press the remove button says that it can’t be found but it doesn’t remove from the list. Is there any way of removing it from there manually?

Anna

If the Software item was in Add\Remove then the 'proper' way to uninstall it is from there, not 'manually'

Having 'removed'it, there is no way to get the item out of the Add\Remove list unleess you use a Utility program called TweakUI for XP

Hopefully, someone will tell you where to get that

u can remove it from the registry, doing it this way will remove it from the add/remove list in control panel
ALWAYS back up the registry first.when done so..goto START/RUN type in REGEDIT then goto
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE,GOTO MICROSOFT then scroll down to find WINDOWS click on the + sign next to windows and scroll down to UNINSTALL and u will find the progran in there to delete from ur list.

I believe that you need to expand Current Version after Windows, then Uninstall.

Still one step missing:

1) + HKEY LOCAL MACHINE
2) + SOFTWARE
3) + MICROSOFT
4) + WINDOWS
5) + CURRENT VERSION
6) + UNINSTALL

Hi Anna,
Rather than messing about with the registry?
Go to this link Click Here at Znets downloads its a shareware program that works for 30 days and it allows you to remove programs from your Add/Remove list.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Another program that will need to be uninstalled to uninstall a program.
Regcleaner is freeware and gives you the ability to remove items from add and remove.
I would reinstall the program then uninstall it properly in add and remove programs if you just deleted the folder.
