Specs: xp pro, amd 3000 512mb

Can anyone tell me how to remove a manufacturers name (Compaq, Fujitsu etc.) from the systems property screen. I.E. when I right click on 'my computer' it says Fujitsu on the screen.
Many thanks. Bob

some bios have the option to remove the OEM logo ... look for something like 'silent boot' and set it to disabled so the POST screen will be shown instead of the logo

Can't imagine why you want to do this but the info you see is written to the Registry so pick something that looks unique, (Fujitsu?)and serach for it.
Editing the registry can be fatal if you don't know what you are doing so be aware.

HERE is the best trick I know of. Beware! Don't try it if your PC is under warranty.

this was certainly too early for me :-)

here's a freebie:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/OEM_Info_...

'This tool lets you add or edit the OEM information and logo on the Windows System Properties dialogue with your company's information and logo. It is a great program for the clone retailers who makes a brand like machine by assembling and branding different products. With OEM Info Editor XP, OEMs can add their own image and information to brand their computer easily. Home users can replace this logo by funny pictures or add their own photo to the System Properties dialogue.'
