how do i remove items from the add/remove programs list.
meaning: the program isn't there anymore so when i click remove, it doesnt' remove cause it isn't there anymore. but the program stays in the list. i want it gone.
thanks.

Against my better nature to tell someone to mess around in the registry, but unless you have Norton's (or other) handy little tool for finding and deleting non-used registry keys, here is how you do it.
at the RUN command type in "regedit" (no quotes) and under FILE make sure you EXPORT registry so you have a backup in case something gets messed up. Remember where you have saved the file in a worse case scenario if you need to simply double-click on the back-up file you saved and it will restore the registry. * DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK *
With all that said, now you need to proceed to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and remove the folder for the program that you want to uninstall. That should work for XP (did for 98, but haven't tried it in XP)
Later,
Michael

You know... I thought I would try this out on XP just to know if it would work for you or not.
This process works in XP too~! :)
Michael
