I have recently put a fresh install of WinXP on my friends computer, I downloaded smartdrv.exe on my own PC to use on my friends, in order to run XP setup from Dos prompt.
Problem is, I accidently executed it on my PC and now it is unremovable from my desktop. I obvioulsy need to do something in DOS in order to get rid, but am very unfamiliar with DOS and do not know where to start.
Can anyone help!!

rmdir
New /s command-line option deletes directories that contain files and subdirectories.
is what i found in the microsoft support [ages by typing in dos commands, dont know if this helps any, im still looking tho.... found this toormdir [Drive:]Path [/s] [/q]
rd [Drive:]Path [/s] [/q]
Parameters
[Drive:]Path : Specifies the location and name of the directory that you want to delete./s : Removes the specified directory and all subdirectories including any files. Use /s to remove a tree.
/q : Runs rmdir in quiet mode. Deletes directories without confirmation.
/? : Displays help at the command prompt.

Thanks for your help kitty.
I seem to have done it.
I know that using DOS from accessories is not a good idea, but thought would give it a go before booting into dos.
I cd\ to get to the desktop and did a simple 'del smartdrv.exe' and its gone!!
Ive done a reboot to be sure and everythings great!!
