I am trying to get rid of a Freedom program I had on my computer over a year ago. I uninstalled the anti virus program through add/remove programs but I keep getting a message that my anti virus is turned off when my computer boots up. I was trying to put AVG anti virus on my computer but I keep getting an error and it will not let me install until I remove the other anti virus program. I contacted my internet service provider and that was useless. Please help.

CharleneS, perhaps it's sorta like Norton's? In order to remove that one, the easiest way is to use the uninstaller that comes with it. Perhaps it's folder is still around and you can run it from there? Maybe you need to reinstall and run the uninstaller? If all else fails, perhaps Ccleaner can get rid of it?
