Hi all, need help. Have a problem with remote desktop connection causing the remote machine to crash. Bith machine are identical spec' and run WinXP SP1.. All up to date with patches and virus free. The machine which crashes is my gateway machine to the Net (adsl), Have 2 accounts set up on it, Admin and user account. Does not matter which account I log onto remotely across my network, after being connected for about 5 mins the remote machine hangs. Tried disabling non essential services, power management, screensavers etc. I'm at a complete loss. You guys and girls got any ideas on getting this sorted out?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

The only suggestion I can make is to do a search at Google/Groups.

a search turned up a couple of ideas from folks that have had problems similar to yours;
" all I did was upgrade my firmware (on the router). I had version 1.23, now I have 1.42.6. If any of you still have any problems, I'd suggest patching the firmware."
" DMZ Host, make sure it's turned off. (set to 0)."
