I have configured my remote desktop behind my router for one of my networked pc's. The remote works just fine.I recently installed a pc for my elderly father some 15 mile away. We both utilize broadband ISP's so I setup his pc's remote desktop so I can help assist him as her learns his first pc. What I am trying to achieve is concurrent viewing of the host pc so I can teach him while we talk on the phone. I have made the proper registery changes and installation of an earlier termsrv.dll and set a limit of three (3) concurrent sessions. This is fine but the host pc's desktop logs off as a remote session logs on. I want the host screen to be able to see what I am doing remotely. Like PCanywhere does. By the way I have PC Anywhere 12 and I could not get it configured behind my linksys router. If anyone can help either with the remote desktop or maybe a guide to PC Anywhere 12
setup that would be great. My goal is to log onto my fathers pc when he has questions and I want him to be able to see what i do on his screen.

TIA
DJMike

PCA12 should work. His modem/router/firewall needs to be configured as well as you outbound ports.

Remote Desktop should have worked too. Again both inbound and outbound needs to be setup correctly.

Might look into msn messenger or maybe yahoo.. I used to use msn. It had a perfect solution to that you what to do. You could use voice or text to see and show your pal what to do.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Use Remote Assistance instead as it is designed to do as you are desiring.

Have your father go to:
Start, Help and Support, "Invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance"

You can also click on Tell me more about Remote Assistance from that link/screen.
