Hi, I use remote desktop a lot, and for the past 2 days i have been able to log into the computer, but once it logs in and shows me my desktop i cannot click on anything or type anything. I have reset my computer, tried accessing it from different machines with no success. My machine is plugged directly into the cable modem, so there is no hardware firewall.

Any suggestions?

are you getting any messages in Event Viewer to clue you in on what might be happening? Is your computer using any power saving settings like hibernate? I cannot connect to my computer remotely if the hard drive is set to "go to sleep" after a certain time period.

Nothing out of the ordinary in the event viewer, there is no power saving modes...very weird...i'm gonna try to see if it does the same thing if i try to connect over the lan, which I'm in the process of wiring/installing.

Update: I got it working by turning off "menu and window animation"
