Okay here's the situation. I have a computer at my house in the Bahamas, but I am currently in school in Orlando. I use Remote Desktop to occasionally log into my computer back home in the Bahamas. As everyone knows here, when using remote desktop, If I log into the Remote computer it automatically logs out anyone else using it locally. My brother uses my computer back home in the bahamas, because its the only computer in the house. I dont want to log him out if he is using it.

SO heres my question. Is there anyway I can monitor my computer or tell if my computer is in use before I log in remotely so that I dont accidently log my brother off back at home? That would be great, thanks for the help.

Take a look at Logmein Free.

I have been using it for about 3 years and am very satisfied.

I agree with JPW. I have used LogmeIn Free for several years now. I look after a 25 user node, with a Mandriva PDC.

Even with the user using the machine, I can watch what they are doing for errors (error messages). I can do updates to M$, virus and spyware updates.

Even reboot the machine to ensure the changes went through.

All this from 300 miles away.
