How can I take remote desktop control of another PC on my network (which is running NT) with the remote dektop connection program in XP?
I'm not sure you can use XP remote desktop as it is a terminal server from Win2k, but you can try VNC.
The client part of remote access are in the c:\windows\system32 folder and they consist of 2 files, mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll.
Copy those two to a folder and try it from the NT box. I believe I used it from a WinME box once.

to my knowledge this is not possible. You will need to purchase PCAnywhere or download the free WinVNC program for this. You cannot make Terminal Services for W2K/XP work on NT4. You can however access W2k/XP from the NT4 machine by downloading the remote desktop client software for pre XP/2000 machines. http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/winvnc.html
