Recently I noticed that my remote connection to my remote computer from the host computer has slowed down terribly. It definitely is something related to the remote computer as the host computer can connect to other connections just fine. I had the remote computer on a wireless connection receiving 54mbps from the router but it was working well. I thought if I brought it back to a wired connection receiving 100mbps, this would help the speed. I did that and didn't really notice much difference. Last night I played around with some of the msconfig settings... getting rid of startup options that I didn't need and I got rid of the Linksys wireless service since it was the only way to get the Wireless monitor (which is obviously turned off) to disappear from my taskbar. This morning I notice that I can barely use the remote desktop - it is way to slow. Just to connect it takes forever and I can't effectively use it. I'm wondering if I turned off something I wasn't supposed to. It DOES connect but its just way to slow so I doubt its a firewall issue. Now I'm getting a remote connection has timed out... maybe the modem speed on the remote has slowed to a crawl? Anything you guys can suggest?
