Hey guys,I've got a major problem getting my remote desktop working. I've already forwarded my port to 3389, and tried enable dmz for my ip, and changing the listening port of remote desktop in the registry, and tried running vnc, and no of the above work. I get the error, client could not connect to remote computer, remote connections might not be enable or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections.... etc.
I can ping my router remotely fine, but when I think what is happening is that my router isn't allowing a connection through the port. I'm not exactly sure what's the problem, but I've scoured the internet for solutions, and nobody seems to have a viable one. please help, as I am in the middle of my exams, and I am wasting a lot of time trying to fix this stupid problem. thanks.

RealVNC runs on port 5900 by default, but you can change it. Do you have cable access, dsl or what? You say you can ping your router from the outside world? What kind of router do you have?

I ran into a problem like that when I had msn. The dsl modem had a built in firewall. That I could not forward any ports through. You might try your isp support page or call them and see if the modem has a firewall and if you can configure it.

I doubt that it's my modem, because I can forward other ports fine ie. g6ftp server, azureusm, soul seek etc.

i had same problem but i solved it by following advices from this thread:

let me know if it helped ya too, ok?The beat never fades!
