I am having some problems with my router and remote desktop connection. I am attempting to connect a laptop computer from outside of my Office LAN to a computer within the network. The router I am using is a Microsoft Wired Base Station Model: MN-100. I am able to remotely connect to the desired computer when the laptop is within the network. I know the router is set up to allow remote desktop connections because somebody else set up a seperate computer outside of the LAN to connect to the desired computer inside the LAN. Unfortunatley I do not currently have access to this computer so I can not simply copy the connection settings. I have checked the router settings and it is set to foward the RDC port, 3389, to port 3389 of the desired host computer. The problem is that when I attempt to remotely connect to the desired host computer using the global address of the router and the port 3389, i recieve the page can not be displayed message. I have tried the remote desktop connection with ports 3389 and 80. I have not changed default website port using IIS, like some sites suggest. Even if I am within the LAN, I can not even login to the base station using its global IP address. On some of the other router's I have worked with I am able to access the router from within the LAN using either the local/NAT or global address. I have pinged the router's global IP and get a response so I know it is there. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong, or what I should do to fix the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. - Josh
