I am wondering what options I have for remotely controlling computers (mostly XP, some windows 2000, 9x) on a simple lan network. Particularly a program like WAYD "What your you doing now" but something that is not spyware and actually works. My goal is to have more computing capacity while not having extra keyboards and monitors.
Are there programs that are cross platform so I could control a linux machine from a XP one?

I control three systems at my desk using one keyboard/monitor/mouse and a KVM switch. No remote software needed. If you want to go the way of remote control then google VNC or tightvnc
They can be had free although the control was a bit glitchy for my liking. I've also used a thing called Remote Admin 2.1 Was a bit better than VNC but honestly the KVM switch works best for me.
