I'm quite new to win xp and I've noticed that I have remote assistance turned on and remote control is enabled. Is it best if I turn this off? Will it cause any problems to my system? Thanks.

If you aren't expecting anyone, shut the back door, even if the screen door has a lock. If you dont use a feature that allows someone to access your machine, disable that feature. Just my opinion.
