Hello im looking for a software that i could use remote access without detection of the other person. My son has a really bad problem on the cpu because he messes it up alot and i was wondering if there is a remote access program i can use to just put a server file on his cpu and i can just work from there without him knowing i would be watchin him. PLEASE I NEED THE PROGRAM IF ANYBODY KNOWS ONE. This is my 3rd time installin windows xp because he deleted some window files that can not be recovered

It may help to change the type of User Account that he has access to, eg. Limited Account.
In Windows HELP, click Index, then type:
user accounts
look for more info.

Im sry taht wont help i tried it before hes almost a computer genius im just looking for a remote access program that comes with a hidden server file i can put in his cpu.

I have VNC on every computer on my company network and use it for this very reason (as well as the obvious remote administration).
VNC is a free open source application in which you will have to install a Server on the computer you are wanting to remote into and a client (listener) on the PC tha tyou are wanting to connect from. On the PC running the server you it will create an icon in the system try that will usually change colors when you remote into this. In order to prevent this you will want to perform the following Registry hack to hide the icon:
Browse to Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3 (backup key before editing by File > Export > Selected Branch)
Then right-click in the right pane to add a dword value labeled "disabletrayicon" and give it a value of "1" to disable it, reboot and wallah.

In addition the software that I use is called Tight VNC and can be found here: http://www.tightvnc.com/
thought I am sure there are many great VNC programs out there like Real VNC and others. Also you will want to install the Server on the PC as a SERVICE so that it will automatically run at ever reboot/startup of the computer.
Also before disabling the tray icon you will want to double-click on it and change some of the render/refresh/screen options. Thinking specifically of "remove wallpaper when logging in" which is a tell tale sign that you are logging in.
Also when logging in you from the client you will want to make sure that you have it on Listen/Read mode only as when you login any mouse movement on your part will control his mouse. Tight VNC when installed as a Client should install the "Tight VNC (Listen)" option in the startup menu when you check the option to do so... for obvious reason, on the PC you are spying on you will most likely NOT want to install the Start bar icons.
Hope that helps.. let me know if you have any questions at all as the program is a very useful tool.

One last comment.
VNC should really only be used within an internal network PC -> PC and should not be available to external/internet access as it is a common communication port that could be easily hacked or the communications sniffed for password or other sensitive non-encrypted info.
If you are wanting to use VNC to access via the internet from say your work location, then consider Remoting into a 2nd computer at home with a more secure application (RDC, PC Anywhere, etc.) and then VNC from your 2nd home computer to the one you are wanting to monitor... if that makes sense? Double remoting may not be as fun, takes a little to get used to, but this option would be more secure.
