I am having many problems here...First of all, I have a Virus protection program, up to date and scanned daily...ditto, spamware...and rootkit....I have deleted temp files, recycle, etc...I've done everything that is supposed to work...I've checked with my server who show now problems ( I have dial-up so i know it's slow, but 20-25 min for a site to come up???--that's IF it comes up)...When i click on an address, from an email, or another site, etc.. it always USED to come up...I made the major mistake of downloading Firefox as it was supposed to be 'faster with less problems'..>WRONG...it was slower, and many sites I couldn't open at ALL..so I uninstalled it. Now i am unable to click on any site and go to it...I can't click on my yahoo msg mail connector...nothing happens...when a site DOES try to open, it opens maybe half...then just stops. OR i get the famous 'cannot be connected, etc etc page'...can ANYONE give me some insight into this and/or something else to try that I and my ISP techs haven't tried?? THANK YOU

We changed several settings...I can't remember them all

Made sure all virus, spam scanners were working

Made sure I had cleaned the cache

Checked all the settings for the ISP

Made sure the clock/date setting was right (he said sometimes that can interfere)

Deleted and then installed the dial-up properties.

I think that's it. As I said this is not just with one site...i cann't click on ANY URL from ANYwhere and have it open...

This ALL began AFTER I had installed then UNinstalled Firefox Browser...ALSO, after uninstalling, I now get this irritating message every time i shut down my computer "Instruction at 0X00000019 reference summary at 0X0000019 could not be "written". I was told that this happens often after an unsuccessful uninstall....the tech guy said just coincidence...an awful lot of coincidences! I can't get rid of THAT either. Must I do yet ANOTHER reinstallation of windows??? This thing is ONLY a year old!
