Can I use a Windows XP Home or XP Pro OEM disc on an HP Laptop originally containing XP Media Center Edition, using the MCE CD Key?

On top of that, the installation CD must match the type (version) of COA that is there....

OEM must use OEM COA
Retail must use retail COA
upgrade must use upgrade
....etc...
