I was done with all the popup's and ad software on my PC. after re-installing fresh copies of XP the 1st time, my room mate used my PC - and low and behold all these pop-up's and ad wear came back.
I re-installed XP again - and although it fixed some of the ad's - it was still an issue.
I tried to delete these programs - but in the end I decided to re-format my hard drive and re-install.
I deleted my Hard disk partition and created a new one.
Now when I try to install XP, it freezes. It intially copies all the files to the hard drive - then when re-booting to continue installation, it freezes. No messages. No errors.
Thoughts?

First thing I would do is pull all add on cards out of the computer and lay them aside but the video card and then try to install. Sometimes a one piece of hardware will cause it to hang like that. You did right by deleting the partition and recreating it. That way you know you got a clean install. After you get windows installed, go back and put your hardware in and it will usually go in but need a driver. Then you can install the latest drivers for whatever you installed.
Girls just wanna have fun! Im out to help them all I can!
