Is it at all possible to reinstall a service in Windows XP Pro??
Just wondering because I'm trying to get my Linksys WMP54G Wireless card to install, but I always get an error saying that the Wireless Zero Config Service can't start because a dependency service doesn't exist or has been marked for deletion.
The only service it depends on is the RPC service, which is set to start automatically. If I check the event viewer under system, there's an entry saying that the Wireless Zero Config depends on the following nonexistent service: Ndisuio. I searched MS's KB with no luck. I've visited other message boards that've said to just use Linksys's config utility instead of the WZC service in XP, but 1) Linksys's directions say to let XP use that service & 2) Linksys's own utility doesn't install properly because it was only meant for Win 98-2K. I know there's nothing wrong with the card because I used it in a previous rig running 2K & it worked flawlessly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Frankly, I'm kinda tired of having a 50' cord of CAT 5 running downstairs to my cable modem :)

Check this article out, it appears you didn't search hard enough :-)
