i need to know how to reinstall mscdex.exe on xp because the computer knows that the drives are their it just cant read them

MSCDEX.EXE is a DOS CD Driver. You don't need and cant use it with Windows XP as XP has no DOS. It also requires an entry in config.sys as well.

We need to know more about whatever it is that you are trying to do. Unless you have your X tra P utrid drive formatted in FAT, instead of NTFS, there is no reason to mess with MSCDEX, and it won't solve whatever problem you have.
