Re-install XP on multi partion HD

I need to erase my c drive and I cannot do it in dos with format C: \s - the old system is still there and they go on top of one another and cause problems. I cannot do a repair, I need a clean install without damaging my D & E partitions, could someone tell me how to do this, I would apreciate it. all I have is a 98 boot disc and the XP disc. Thanks

Have you tried installing the XP disk and do a new install, not a repair. It will format the C drive for you.

Just be sure that you opt to reformat c: and not another drive/partition... Also, wise to back up data first - off the drive; just to be safe (rather than sorry if you do make an error...)
