Hi
I have two hard drives: driveC is 20gb with XP installed and driveD is 60gb which I am currently using as an overflow. I want to re-format and re-install windows XP pro but was wondering if it is possible to install XP on my bigger of the 2 drives (D drive) and just have c drive as an overflow. I am new to computers and have never re-formatted or re-installed windows before so please keep you answers as basic and descriptive as possible.
Thanks.

1) Format the 60 GB Drive (by right-clicking on the drives' icon in My Computer)(assuming that there;s nothing on it you need to keep)
2) Transfer any files you need that are currently on the 20 GB Drive to the 60 GB by creating a storage folder on the larger drive and copying any necessary work across.
3) Switch off and remove both drives (carefully) from the PC.
4) If both drives are to be connected to the same ribbon cable: re-set the jumpers so that the 60 GB is set as Master, and the 20 GB is set as Slave (see diagram on drive).
If each drive is to be connected to a separate cable (IDE 1 & IDE 2) then they should both be set as master.
5) With the drives re-installed in the PC, Switch on and enter the CMOS setiings screen (usually accessed by pressing DEL or F2 during start-up) and check the information shown about the installed drives.
If all is OK, you can re-boot and re-install Windows. NOTE: read and understand the preceeding directions before starting to tinker with the PC, It's not possible to give complete yet brief instructions so if there's anything you don't understand DO NOT PROCEED, re=post and we'll go to greater detail.David S.
