Hi; I installed win xp pro, but when I got to the point about partition, I did not know that I have already a partition (my Hd is brand new??) so I choose whatever was highlited and at the end of the installation I noticed that the drive C is only 9g but my HD is 80 g, I do not find the other 71g, I can see all my hard drive in the bios.
So I was thinking that maybe if I removed completly windows and star from cero (clean install) I can make a better choice.
Can I do that? or what should I do?
I tried already with partition magic but does not want to get install, so I want to leave it in peace for now.
If is possible what will be my best option about the partition when installing win xp?.
Thank you

Do another clean install from the startup of your computer. Delete the partion using what the XP disc gives you. Then type in the full amount of MB that is there. You will get it when you see it.

9Gig is more than enough for OS/apps/utils; use balance of drive for data - perhaps sub-divided at little into a series of logical-drives (easier data oranistaion/access/defrags).

Use XP Admin tools (Disk Admin) to configure/format balance of drive. No need of re-install etc.

Having OS etc. in the Primary and data etc. in the Extended means data is safe from predations of OS during any re-install etc. following a crash of OS. The Primary can even be reformatted if need-be without affecting Extended area(s) - unless one is realy careless...

how many partitions does your new hard drive have currently, and what sized?

go into the BIOS and detect the size of your hard drives, are they the right sizes?

how old is your computer? you say you have a 130 mhz computer ... do u mean 1300?
