What exactly are you trying to "fix"??
Note that even after a brand new fresh install of Windows, most of these Registry Programs are going to indicate that they have found "errors" and if you send money, you can fix them.
(and the free ones will also find entries that they state can be deleted)A large percentage of these items should not be classed as errors.
For example:
If one of Windows applications "may" create a file called "TestOutput.txt", and that application has a registry entry called "NameOfFile" with a value of "TestOutput.txt", AND that application has yet to be run, when this "Registry Program" bumps into this entry, it will flag it as an error since the file does not exist.
A cleaner may keep the registry "clean" but there is always the danger (no matter who says that it has always worked for them), that an entry will be deleted that will some day be required.
And yes, most do take backups, but when you get some strange error six months later, you will be hard pressed to relate it to something that was removed from the registry. (let alone find the appropriate entry in one of the backup files)

i cannot use my net passport and messenger dosen work i have tried reducing security levels but it still dosent work so i tried a free registry scanner and it says i have 66 errors in my registry

best option to use here is the system restore feature, providing you use XP. then registry clean with registry mechanic.

As always WhitPhil is right on the button. If you have a registry entry with some sort of qualifier such as setup.exe/2 then registry checkers are likely to say no such file exists (you have setup.exe present but not setup.exe/2). Let it remove it and you run into trouble.
RegSeeker, for example, gets many things wrong and can cause problems. Yeah, I do use them (on W98SE) but with very great care, and even then I could get still get caught out one day. For all I know some problems I've fixed were due to past activity of registry checkers.
The only safe ones are those where you can untick program names and suppliers (when they get left behind after an uninstall).

Good to see WhitPhil is still around.
"i cannot use my net passport and messenger dosen work"
Is the problem related to emotional reasons or because of something related to the application/s where you do something expecting something to happen but something else happens instead?
Can you explain?
Bryan

I see that you somewhat described and resolved your problem in http://computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/139272.html.
