Hi Guys,
I am considering purchasing a Registry Cleaning Program. Any thoughts on which is the best? Or is there a freeware that does a good job? Thanks.

Download Ace Utilities from www.acelogix.com

Its free to try for 30 days. Then there's Registry Mechanic. Try them out and see which one you like. I personally think Ace is better. Good Luck

Hello, I have used RegCleaner, and found it quite easy to use, and it is free. It also affords you the opportunity to make a backup first, just in case you muck things up. Hope this helps.

I won't try to 'sell' anything to you, because I know that there are many persons on this board more experienced than myself, and many good utilities out there. But I CAN tell you that I've been using TuneUp Utilities 2004 for some time and have been extremely pleased with it.

It has yet to make any changes to my registry that caused me any trouble, and the software also includes an abundance of additional utilities to fine-tune XP. You can go to download.com and read other user's opinions of it, which I have found to be quite high. It is one of the few downloads that I actually ended up purchasing.

The trial version has full functionality and lasts for 30 days. If you want to try it, you can get it from download.com or go directly to the publisher's website:

It's worked well for me :)

The only true way to clean your registry is to do a format & reinstall. I use the free RegCleaner which does a good job but there will always be remnants of previous software you have tried & uninstalled.
