How do i get rid of this annoying registry cleaner message? I reinstalled my OS and this keeps coming up, also, is there really a neccessity to install a registry cleaner?

Welcome to the world of 'scareware' - you might try disabling Windows Messenger services, as per the link on this page

It should go without saying... don't 'bite' and install the product

Legitimate registry cleaners can be useful, although seldom essential, but anytime the registry is modified there can be unwanted results.

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.

You are infected.

Use HiJackThis to track down infections.
Here is all the the info needed to empower yourself, anything you are not sure of, put into a search engine like Google.
Read this link 1st, it has step by step.

Important: Create a specific folder on your hard drive called HijackThis to keep its backups.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HijackThis. Download and unzip HijackThis.exe into this folder.
