Were haveing a problem with left over crap in the reg on my wifes computer and I've tried to remove some of it manually but not had much luck.
We have Norton System works 2005 and cant complete the scans or disk repair programs due to the problems with Active X reg issues.
What would you guys recomend for a registry cleaner?
Were on a low budget being were both disabled so we dont want to waist $ on inferior software.
Thanks for any advice offered!

I use RegSeeker but am very careful. It is a very aggressive cleaner. First time I used it, I removed everything they recommended and my computer wouldn't run.

Now, I only remove the items that they show in green text and have never had a problem with it.

Also, V-Com's System Suite has a very good registry cleaner that has never caused me a problem.

Easy Cleaner by Toni Arts is free and a very good registry cleaner along with many other useful cleaners such as the "Add/Remove" editor.

Format & reinstall whatever OS you are using. The ONLY way to thoroughly clean the registry.
