I have a couple things I was wanting to change in the registry, opened regedit, made my changes and when I reboot nothing seems to change. I reopen the editor and my changes are still there.
One is the safely remove icon for my sata drive and the other is the userimages.bmp that pops up when you start nero7.
MSI K8N Neo
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.21ghz
1GB DDR 3200
nVidia 128mb FX 5200
WD 120gb SE
NEC ND-3500AG DVD R/RW

What keys did you change? And from what value to what value?

This is what I found for sata,
To convince Windows to treat my SATA devices as non-removable I located the key
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvata64
in the registry and created a DWORD value named DisableRemovable with value 1 under it. For the 32-bit version of the Nvidia drivers, you'd create the same value under
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvata
And this for nero,http://fird.kucing-kelabu.com/2006/...
Neither of these seemed to do anything.
