today, my hard drive has 3GB free spaces...and I try to download a file(500mb) with Reget. before the download was finish, I cancel it, and I delete the partly downlaod file. However, my hard drive lose 500Mb...but hey, I stop the download when it is only 10%.
So, I try again, this time I cancel the download after 1 or 2% and the delete the aprtly downloaded file...and again I lose 500mb. WHY?(so I lost 1GB today with no reason)
Please help.

Make sure it's emptied from your recycle bin. If it's still there the space won't disappear. You probably want to do a disk cleanup. You probably have tons of temporary web pages that could be deleted too.
TECHZAPORT OUT!!!

I've emptied recycle bin, and use window washer to clean up ALL temp or IE temp files...but it's still doesn't work.
I've also use disk clean up.Actually, it's not my first time, sometimes I have to wait around 2 weeks and downloading some stuff in order to get back those lost space...very weird.
Okay, I find something new:
My hard drive is actually 18.6GB.
when I click on my computer, and then see the propertie for my hard drive it mentions:
17.3 GB used up
1.27 GB leftbut when I double click on my D drive and then Select all element(Ctrl-A) then "properties", I got only 13.1GB used up, and not 17.3GB.
Why? How can I fix the problem?

Hidden files, maybe?
What if ReGet is storing the temporary file in its own folder? What if the file already exists at the location you are downloading to and ReGet is just renaming the file to something else? It's probably creating a 500 MB chunk beforehand so it doesn't have to keep reallocating hard drive space.

I think I'm in big trouble...I do check in reget's folder, but nothing 500mb there.
I told reget to save in my desktop, but after that, I delete that partial downloaded file, so where is the hidden chunk file now? how can I find it? :(
