Does anyone know the command in REGEDIT that is used to shut down the PC and where can I find it??????

Why on earth would you shut down from the registry? Or do you mean you can't shut down the normal way, and hope to fix it in the registry?
Why not tellus more of the problem...if there is one?

Sorry !! I had a problem with my homepage being hijacked and the solution i was given involved altering some commands in the REGEDIT but the trouble is that i cant remember what i did and the computer now wont shut down the normal way. Whenever i shut down its as if i havent given a command at all it just carries on

Use system restore to go back to before you edited the registry. Then use all the malware removal tools mentioned on this forum to clean up your hijacked browser.
adaware, spybot, hijack this, etc.

Got it. Import the backup you made of your registry, and then alter the commands again. If you were given a solution, that must tell you what you altered. You may have altered one too many things if this happened right after you fixed the hijack.
Now don't tell me you didn't back up the registry before mucking around in it...please.
And I don't mean to impugn your knowledge, but if you don't know how to edit the registry, don't. Get someone who knows how to do it.
Others may have a better idea.

Posted my longer msg before dwardy's showed up. His is probably a better idea. I'm just not sure if System Restore also restores registry deletions. I guess it must.
