Hi guys -
Hopeing you can help me out. I just got done doing a reinstall of windows onto my Dell PC. I had no problems with the refresh rate before (I had XP Pro) and now after my new install of Windows Home Svs Pack2, for some reason the refresh rate on the internet and also for just dragging folders, and moving boxes (offline) my refresh rate is VERY Slow. I'm not sure why and I can't adjust the refresh rate, it gives me one option which is the option that is the hardware default option. Any help would be very appreciated because right now my actions are forced to be VERY slow. Thanks.

Install the drivers for your video card and you'll be all set.

Apart from resolving the refresh rate issue with driver update ... why did you installed XP SP2? Do you know it is an old update released almost 5 years ago. You could have installed XP SP3 instead.

SP2 is the newest version I have for you but for everybody else SP3 is the newest version released by Microsoft on Apr 21, 2008. Yours was released on Aug 9, 2004. Go Visit Windows Update site.

I take it that the you only have an XP CD with Service Pack 2 and not one with SP3, right? If so, you can go to the Windows Update site as XPUser suggested to download SP3. But I doubt that will fix your refresh rate problem. It will though install much needed security updates and stuff.

By the way, here is the link to the driver you need to install in case you're not sure:
