reformatted and can't get online

I have just reformatted my dell computer with windows xp that came my the computer and I cannot get online now. I do not have a network adapters in the device manager. It does have a yellow question mark next to erthernet and does not have a driver in it when I click that. The cable company tell me that I have to have this driver in order to connect. I have installed all the drivers on the cd that came with the computer. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Thanks

Look on the bottom of your laptop for a sticker that says Service Tag. That is the number that identifies your Dell PC. Go to the support area on Dell's web site and look for downloads, and enter that Service Tag number. You will then be able to download the appropriate driver for your particular laptop.
