Just put the XP CD in the drive and start it up.

The process to partition, format, and install is all built in.

Sterling_aug is right. Just put the XP cd in your cd-rom drive and start the PC. When it boots from the XP cd the installation process will start and you will be given the chance to format your drive.

How do you reformat a Windows XP hard drive when you DO NOT have a Windows XP CD-ROM? I was not given a Windows XP CD-ROM when I bought my computer. XP was already installed on hard drive.
The commands for reformatting a Windows 98 hard drive--> C:\>FORMAT C: /S in MS-DOS mode do not work for Windows XP.
I have a Windows 98 CD-ROM. Thanks.
