Reformat windows XP pro

Hi, I want to completly reformat my hard drive, and renstall windows XP Pro. what is the easiest way to do this. I have tried to put the windows cd in and do i but i have had no luck, it just tries to reinstall windows over the current copy. I wwant a clean reinstall like doing format c: in windows 98.

Hi Don,
You're on the right track. Boot your system and insert the XP disk. When it boots the install screen appears, and asks you if you want a upgrade or fresh install. Choose fresh install, then an options screen appears; choose "I want to choose partition in which to install Windows, etc..." and a display of your harddrive appears. Remove all partitions until only RAW space shows, then re-set your partitions(s) and format in NTFS; after the formatting the install starts automatically.
