can someone tell me how to reformat my hard drive by using a bootup disk and with windows xp...i want to delete everything on my computer and i dont remember the commands when i use the bootup disk in dos or whatever..can someone tell me simple instructions on how to use my bootup disk and window xp to reformat my hd. thank you

if you want to reformat your drive, it would probably be much easier and better to use the windows XP cd, you can boot off the cd, you may have to change some settings in the bios. If you really want to use the boot disk, the command is format c: , or whatever drive letter it is, or you may also try format c: /q to save time. But if you plan on installing windows XP, I would highly recommend booting off the CD and formatting your drive with the NTFS filesystem, a dos bootdisk will format the drive using FAT32. The choice is yours. Hope this was helpful.
