Comment:

When my system boots up, a pop up screen with a red 'X' appears saying 'WINDOWS SYSTEM ERROR' 'A DUPLICATE NAME EXISTS ON THE NETWORK'
I then have to X that out in order to logon.
Any way of deleting what it is referring to?
TIA

It simply means that you have two computers on the network with the same name. Each computer has to have a unique name.

Find out which computer is the duplicate and change it, or change the name of your computer to something different.

To change the name press Windows Key and Pause. Select Computer Name > Change and change it to something different.

Thanks, that did it. I brought a new computer to the office and just named it the name of the company when I set it up. Guess that was stupid. But now no pop up after renaming it.
